HTV and HTV Conservation now part of the TÜV NORD GROUP
3. February 2023
The TÜV NORD GROUP will acquire the majority of the semiconductor and electronic specialists of the HTV und HTV Conservation, which are based in Bensheim. With this acquisition, the TÜV NORD GROUP and their semiconductor subsidiary ALTER TECHNOLOGY will form a principal European provider for automated semiconductor testing and programming. This new group will enable companies from diverse fields to outsource their semiconductor backend processes individually and extensively, as well as take up a leading role for OSAT services (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) in Europe.
Dirk Stenkamp, chairman of the TÜV NORD AG board: “This acquisition is part of our corporation-wide innovation strategy in the field of high-technology. Semiconductors are the key element in the advancing digitalization of the world. More and more companies are having their semiconductor chips tested and end-processed by external and highly specialized service providers. Besides the international market presence of our subsidiary ALTER TECHNOLOGY, who has so far been working specifically in the fast growing aerospace industry, the market leader HTV gives us access to branches of industry such as automotive, industrial automation and medical technologies. Customers throughout Europe and also worldwide will profit from our portfolio expansion. In this way, we are actively contributing to the resilience of the semiconductor industry and strengthening Europe’s semiconductor position.”
The acquisition encompasses the HTV Halbleiter Test Vertriebs-GmbH, which specializes in testing and programming of semiconductor chips along with sensors and optical components like LEDs. Furthermore, the HTV Conservation GmbH, which has developed an innovative method impeding the aging process of microelectronic components, is also part of the acquisition. This allows for semiconductor chips to be preserved for up to 50 years in a functionally stable manner.
The founders and CEOs of HTV und HTVC: “We are convinced that with TÜV NORD and ALTER TECHNOLOGY we are placing our life’s work in good hands, who will continue our course of growth and offer our employees excellent prospects for the future.”
“We are pleased to welcome HTV and HTV Conservation to the TÜV NORD GROUP “, says Luis Gómez, CEO of ALTER TECHNOLOGY. “This acquisition offers us the opportunity to expand ALTER TECHNOLOGY’s abilities in the field of testing high reliability chips and opto-electronics for the aviation and aerospace industries, in addition to offering a significantly broader range of services.”
The HTV and HTV Conservation team with Holger Krumme as their new CEO are looking forward to working together and being able to offer a large spectrum of semiconductor services at the highest international level in cooperation with ALTER TECHNOLOGY and the TÜV NORD GROUP in the foreseeable future.
