Lighting Technology Congress 2024 | 4-5 June 2024 | Burgenland
24. May 2024
ALTER | HTV at the Lighting Technology Congress 2024 in the Scheiblhofer World in Andau (AT)
ALTER | HTV participated in the program with a presentation on “The lighting laboratory of HTV – characterization, aging and optimized long-term conservation of displays and lighting elements”.
Brief summary of the content that Fabian Zentner presented on 04.06.2024:
The fast-moving nature of the market for electronic and optical components, with innovation cycles of just one year or less in some cases, poses problems for anyone who wants to ensure
guarantee component availability for years to come, for example because spare parts have to be kept in stock, or because clones and replacements cannot deliver comparable, precisely defined optical properties. Based on findings from the HTV research project “Long-term availability of OLEDs (DE)” (funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (DE)) and experience from the HTV lighting technology laboratory, we will present various ageing mechanisms of optical components and the resulting changes in optical properties, show which analysis methods are suitable for characterizing and selecting components and how, by controlling and optimization of the storage conditions (temperature, absorber system, gassing, packaging) to achieve the best possible long-term availability of the components.
